Rest in Him

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30

On my bedroom wall I have a plaque that reads:” God never gives you more than you can handle.”

Our God gives us strength to face all circumstances. He knows about your situation, your hurt, turmoil you may be going through. Remember that he is in control. Learn to trust him in everything; even when it is hard, even when you see people around you seemingly have it easier and better than you do.

We need to talk to God often, sit at his feet, dwell in his presence and listen. Just a reminder, the main reason for our prayer should not be to convince God do anything we want but to alighn us with his will.

Sometimes it is scary to trust and surrender competely. What if he desides to send me to Africa?! Believe me, if he will tell you to do it, he will change your heart and give you desire to go. I have a dear friend who joked with her friends that she will never become a missionary. Guess what? This friend, Nita, decided to go on a short mission trip to Ukraine.  While there she walked into an orphanage and saw babies with disabilities. These children were lying in their cribs, rows and rows of cribs, with mot enough personnel to hold them, to show love. Sadness of this scene touch my friends heart as Nita extender hand to one of the babyish and she grabbed her finger. Nita’s heart was forever changed and back in the United States she decided to go back to Ukraine to start a Ministry. Twenty years later there is an incredible ministry built on God’s faithfulness and people’s prayer and determination. It is an amazing story full of examples of compassion, miracles and complete surrender to Dod’s will. Please check out these videos and the website for this ministry, God’s Hidden Treasures.

Do not be afraid, trust your Creator, God Almighty. He had promised you peace and rest for your soul. Eventually you might even learn to be grateful for trials in your life. It is through hardships that we grow.
