“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” Philippians 4:6
In this verse is from Philippians Paul’s writes about asking in prayer for everything.
“Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows” Matthew 10:29–31Nothing extremely spiritual took place here, but is it is mentioned in the Bible.
In John chapter 2 we read about Jesus changing water to wine at the wedding. It was the first miraculous signs that he performed in Galilee. The act of turning water into wine doesn’t seem to be a big spiritual thing, young Jesus did it to help the party going.
Do you sometimes pray for a nice parking spot at the mall on a rainy day? Was your wish always granted? How was your attitude if you did not get it? Did you come to realize there was probably someone is more of a need to be closer to the mall entrance then you, maybe an elderly person or young mother with three small children? Or did you get angry and begun questioning God “Why does it always happen to me?!”
There are no small things for God. He created you, he knows and gives you the desires of your heart. Cast all your worries-big and small- and all your desires unto him, worry not. You should worry about nothing. In Matthew chapter 6 Jesus tells his disciples not to worry about anything: “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They don’t not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he might not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?”
Lord, give me wisdom and strength to trust you all the days of my life. I know you give me the desires of my heart and for you nothing is impossible. I can not see the big picture of your divine plan, but I love you and I trust you. You are my creator and my father. I come to you with all my wishes and concerns. Thank you for listening.
