Lord can use anyone

Lord can use timid people–like he used Moses. In Exodus Moses pleaded with God: “O Lord, I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue.” And the Lord answered: “ Who gave man his mouth? Who makes him deaf or mute? Who gives him sight or makes him blind? Is it not I, the Lord? Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.” Still Moses replied: “O Lord, please send someone else to do it.”

Don’t you just love it: Moses argues with God who speaks to him from a burning bush! Just imagine this scene…

We are talking about one of the great men of Israel, who does not fully believe in the power of God Almighty, creator of the Universe. Does it remind you of someone you know? May be personally, may be you see that person in the mirror? How often God put’s something on your heart and you spend days, if not months or years trying to figure out if it is really God or is it you? May be you need to step out in faith? Trust that that gentle voice that speaks to your heart and follow Lords plan for your life in obedience.

If you read the books of Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy you will see how many times Moses doubted what the Lord can do through him. It all resulted in ultimate punishment- Moses was not allowed to enter the Promise Land. Still he was a great leader who, if even with doubt, led Israelites from Egypt. He lived to be one hundred and twenty years old and till the day he died he did not loose his sight and strength.
